Torture Tuesday no.12- the Glasgow Smile
It originated in Glasgow, Scotland 1868 and was made popular by English gangs (especially the Chelsea Head-hunters).
How does it work
It’s can be performed by using any type of knife or a piece of glass (a more jagged surface of the utensil the more painful the torture). The victim is restrained and the utensil is used to slice the corners of the mouth open from ear to ear. If left untreated the victim can die from blood loss.
